WHS COVID-19 Learning Plans

Due to COVID-19, the nature of schooling and daily life has changed vastly from previous years. Winfield R-IV School District is currently participating in full-time distance learning until October 16th. On October 15th, our School Board will make decisions for the next quarter of schooling. At this time, if the Winfield R-IV decides to continue with Distance Learning, the current learning option will remain. If the Winfield R-IV School District decides to return to school, students in grades 6-12 will have 2 learning Options:

Option 1: Full In-Person learning 5 days a week

Option 2: Full Virtual learning through Edgenuity - home internet access required

Students will have to commit to one option for the remainder of the semester. Students will not be able to change options throughout the quarter or semester. More detailed information regarding both options are below.

Option 1:

In-Person Learning

  • Student attend in person 5 days a week

  • Students visit all of their regularly scheduled classes daily

  • Students will abide by any procedures and restrictions put in place for in-person learning

  • In the event that a student tests positive for COVID-19 or is identified as a close contact of someone who tests positive for COVID-19, Lincoln County Health Department will determine the length of time in which they will need to quarantine.

Option 2:

Virtual Learning

  • Students complete all learning and work online through Edgenuity

  • Students will be required to have their own internet access and check for learning daily

  • Students will not be present on campus during regularly scheduled school times. Students are still able to participate in extra-curricular activities and events.

  • In the event that a student tests positive for COVID-19 or is identified as a close contact of someone who tests positive for COVID-19, they will continue to work online through Edgenuity and should keep their building up to date on their health and safety.
