Online Course Options with St. Charles Community College

High school juniors or seniors at Winfield High School are welcome to take college-level classes and start earning college credit through St. Charles Community College. The credits earned will be recorded on an SCC transcript and may be used to fulfill degree requirements at SCC or at a transfer institution’s discretion. In addition to the requirements listed below, this checklist was developed to help you through the enrollment process.

    • Have at least a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) high school GPA 
    • Students enrolled in 6 credit hours or in math or English courses are required to complete the SCC assessment
    • The signature of an SCC counselor for registration your first semester in dual enrollment 
    • A complete dual enrollment application form is required every semester of enrollment

    Once you are admittted to SCC, you will receive an email with your SCC portal login information. Click here to find directions on how to login into your portal for the first time

  • Dual Enrollment costs must be paid by the student. In addition, the cost of textbooks and any related course materials are the responsibility of the student. 

    Cost: $50/per credit hour – i.e. 3 hour course = $150 

  • Students can take any online course offered by SCC. For access to SCC’s online course offerings click here. Below is a list of suggested courses that are typically taken by students in the dual enrollment program. All SCCC dual enrollment courses are considered honors classes for WHS.
