Online Course Options with St. Charles Community College 




High school juniors or seniors at Winfield High School are welcome to take college-level classes and start earning college credit through St. Charles Community College. The credits earned will be recorded on an SCC transcript and may be used to fulfill degree requirements at SCC or at a transfer institution’s discretion. In addition to the requirements listed below, this checklist was developed to help you through the enrollment process. 

COVID-19 Registration Updates: 

Fall 2020 Dual Enrollment registration opens on April 13th and will continue through August 16th.Please complete you SCC online application, as well as, your SCC Dual Enrollment Application, prior to this time and email it to your WHS counselor. Both can be found below. Once your applicaton has been received, an SCC will reach out to you via email to help you register for your classes via email or Skype appointments. SCCs Fall 2020 semester begins on August 17th

Requirements to be eligible for dual enrollment:

  • Have at least a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) high school GPA 
  • Students enrolled in 6 credit hours or in math or English courses are required to complete the SCC assessment
  • The signature of an SCC counselor for registration your first semester in dual enrollment 
  • A complete dual enrollment application form is required every semester of enrollment 


Dual Enrollment Registration Process:

  1. Complete an SCC Application 
  2. Comple a Dual Enrollment Application

Once you are admittted to SCC, you will receive an email with your SCC portal login information. Click here to find directions on how to login into your portal for the first time. 



Dual Enrollment costs must be paid by the student. In addition, the cost of textbooks and any related course materials are the responsibility of the student. 

Cost: $50/per credit hour – i.e. 3 hour course = $150 



Students that would like to take Dual Enrollment classes during the Spring 2020 semester, must complete steps 1 & 2 of the registration process by Thursday, October 16th.  Students can turn in their Dual Enrollment Applicaiton to their counselor.
